Whether it’s black, white, green or purple, the Audi Q8 stands out from the SUV crowd with its new-era design language and rakish roofline. The TDI badge at the back is not exactly future-proof, but that doesn’t mean diesel engines will be retired from the market anytime soon. ABT, one of the first tuners to take a stab at tweaking Ingolstadt’s flagship SUV, knows there’s still significant demand for diesel engines in Europe, hence why it has decided to upgrade the “50 TDI” version.

In its standard configuration, the Q8 50 TDI with its 3.0-liter V6 engine running on Devil’s fuel produces 282 hp (210 kW) from 3,500 rpm and a beefy 600 Newton-meters (443 pound-feet) of torque attainable from 2,250 rpm. Many would say that’s more than enough, but not ABT as their boost package has unlocked 326 hp (243 kW) and 650 Nm (480 lb-ft).

The 2023 Audi Q8 receives additional standard equipment such as matrix LED headlights, headlight washers, as well as illumination animation on approach or departure—meaning the exterior lighting elements do a happy dance for you. The Q8 Premium’s Convenience package now includes adaptive cruise control with lane-keep assist. The Executive package for Q8 Premium Plus adds dual pane glass to help quiet the cabin. New interior packages add leatherette to the dashboard for Premium models, as well as to the armrests and center console to the Premium Plus trim. Audi’s remote park assist is now standard on Prestige models. New colors are replacing last year’s palate with Waitomo Blue metallic taking the place of Galaxy Blue metallic, Tamarind Brown metallic bumping Barrel Brown metallic out, and Satellite Silver metallic substituting for Florett Silver metallic.
